On Monday morning, a large number of illegal immigrants started arriving in Ceuta, a tiny Spanish city on the tip of North Africa.

By Tuesday, over 8,000 “migrants” had crossed over from Morocco. The Spanish government acted immediately. It sent extra police and even soldiers, and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced, “We are going to restore order to the city and its borders.” He added, “This sudden arrival of irregular migrants is a serious crisis for Spain and for Europe,” and said the newcomers would be sent back. Yesterday, UPI reported that “more than 4,000 people were already sent back after the nation deployed troops, military trucks and helicopters to stem the arrivals.”
